This cabin has a lot to offer for a group of friends or a family! Lots of things to do in in the surrounding areas. Come enjoy our cozy cabin on 11 private acres with nearby access with parking to Penns Creek, a world-renowned trout and smallmouth stream. The cabin is very private, which is ideal for long, peaceful, walks and bike rides. You can appreciate stunning sunset views of the surrounding mountains. Relax while taking in the views and sounds of nature. You may see a bald eagle, herons, ducks, geese, deer, bear and all the little pa creatures as well. Expect all forms of wildlife. There is a generous yard perfect for kids and pets. Private fire pits in the back yard. Access to the creek for fishing, launching kayaks/canoes, playing in the water, or just relaxing is less then one mile away. Fish and kayak to your heart's content, or take your ATVs and dirt bikes to the miles of trails that are nearby. You will have complete access to the entire house. The barn and workshops will be locked. A charcoal grill and gas grill are provided. Bring your own charcoal and grilling supplies. There is wood for use in the fire pits. The cabin is meticulously cleaned between each guest. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided upon request for an additional fee of $10 per guest for the stay. All door knobs, light switches, remote controls, stove & knobs, refrigerator handles, counter tops, faucets, toilets, sinks, etc. are disinfected. Hard floors are mopped between each guest. Soft surfaces are sprayed with disinfecting spray. Linens are washed on the hottest temperature allowed for the linens and Lysol laundry sanitizer is added to the rinse cycle for the recommended 16 minutes. As of 2020 we are pet friendly, rules and fees apply, $25 per pet per night. There is no smoking inside the cabin. Please do not discard butts on the grounds anywhere. There is no parking of RV's during your stay. Parking areas are easily distinguished from grass areas. No driving through or in yard areas. There will be an air-conditioning window units installed in bedrooms when necessary as well as in the living room. Because we use the property also you will see that we have a lot of personal items tools, antiques, games, books, movies & magazines . Items both in the cabin and the garage, we hope that you will leave everything in its original location upon your departure. Be aware that the driveway is 1/4 mile long, the home is located in the woods, in the winter we suggest you use a 4 wheel drive vehicle as snow could make it difficult for some to enter and exit the property. If you are renting and there is a snow storm, we will plow the lane but only after the snow stops falling. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cookware, and utensils. Keurig, Mr. Coffee, toaster, microwave, stove and fridge. While you are here, be sure to visit the many wineries in the area, Penns Creek Pottery, Rusty Rail, Elk Creek Brewery, T&D's Cats of the World, Penn's Cave, RB Winter State Park, Buffalo Valley Rail Trail (trail head behind Amy's Frosty Freeze in Mifflinburg), Knoebels Amusement Resort, Antique shops, and great restaurants close by. The cabin is within a short drive of Bald Eagle State Forest's 193,000 acres. Other local state parks… Poe Valley State Forest, Hairy John State Park, RB Winter State Park, and Rothrock State Forest. There are many, many, miles of hiking and mountain biking trails available and numerous ATV/ snowmobile trails. PLEASE NOTE: maximum occupancy on the property is 8 people without prior approval. Maximum car parking is 4 cars. Tents are not permitted without prior approval. Fireworks are prohibited. Gun and archery shooting is strictly prohibited on the property. There are cabins and houses that cannot be seen through the trees but are still close enough that you could cause harm or death. We will be notified if these activities occur and you will be required to leave the property. You must stay on our property. You are not permitted to go onto neighboring properties. PLEASE be respectful of the neighbors. Dogs must be leashed at all times while outside.
